I'm trying to use one elmar 3,5cm f3,5 on my R-D1, but the focus work only after 2 meters. Does anyone have this experience? Do I have to make some modification at the lens?

If the lens focusses throughout the range on LTM bodies, it is possible that there is a problem with the M adapter ring.

Is it fully extended?

Is it fully extended?

Haven't used an Elmar on my RD1s, but with the I-22s and I-50s, I frequently didn't have them completely extended and locked.

The 35mm Elmar f/3.5 is a rigid lens, Ampguy.

I haven't tried this particular lens on my R-D1 yet. I'll try it when I get home to see if it's a problem with all 35mm Elmars.

Nice that you also have one. Check please, and tell me if you find the same problem.
Thank you!

I just shot a few pictures with this lens on the camera in my garden. There does not appear to be any focussing problem. It does suffer from flare without a hood.

I only resized the images; all were shot at 400 ISO, with f/8 and f/3.5 and focus distance around the 3.5 feet

My 35mm ELMAR serial number starts with 236XXX, marked in feet, has a nickel finish , and aperture markings from f/3.5 to f/18.
The LTM-to-M adapter I use is an unmarked brass one I bought online from Hong Kong.

I'm sorry, I have no idea why yours does not work correctly on your camera.

Regards,

Thanks a lot for the test.
I don’t know either what is the problem. I have also a Chinese adapter, that works very good with my Jupiter 12. May be I will take the lens to a technician.
