Hello everybody,
i have a Bessa R2 (olive) and it's working great.
The exposure meter is working perfectly, but i've noticed a little problem.
Example: Low Light, the correct settings would be IS200, F1.4 1/8.
If i choose a shorter time it's underexposed. If i choose a longer time (1/2 for example) the exposure meter says the picture is overexposed.
No Problem so far...
BUT if i choose 1second the meter always says "underexposed".
Even if 1/500 would be the correct time in a situation - if i choose 1second the "-" LED is always blinking, which says "underexposed".
If i choose ISO3200 in this situation and 1/125 would be the correct time (only a example), the underexposed meter is blinking from 1/15 and longer times.
I don't really need the 1second, but i'm a little bit worried, if something is defect?
So whats wrong with my Bessa?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Just found this thread: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8227
Is this a common problem with the older Bessas (R, R2)?
EDIT2: And i found this: http://usf.usfca.edu/fac-staff/~fraley/r2meter.html
There is no 1 - 1/4 second @ ISO800? Hmm...

You are probably out of the meter's range. How about when it's darker, or the lens is stopped down a lot, like at f16 ?

It seems to be, that there is no "1second" at ISO 200 and noch 1second - 1/4 second @ ISO800 etc..
http://usf.usfca.edu/fac-staff/~fraley/r2meter.html
If i choose ISO100 the meter says "+" (overexposed) in a bright light situation at 1second.

What you see in the table are the EV limitations of the meter. This is normal, also for other meters.

Sure?
A friend just tried the Bessa R2a and the Leica M6 and they are working as i expected.
Example: ISO800 and 1/30 would be the correct time. If i choose 1second or 1/2 the exposure meter is blinking "+" (overexposed).
The R2 says "-" (underexposed).
So there is no
1/1000-1/2000 @ ISO25
1/2000 @ ISO50
1 @ ISO200
1-1/2 @ ISO400
1-1/4 @ ISO800
1-1/8 @ ISO1600
1-1/15 @ ISO3200
correct? (Bessa R2)
