Hi!

Unfortunately I've noticed today that my RX wasn't able to transport my film beyond the 5th frame :bang: (0 and 5 were blinking).

Now that I've noticed that the sprocket isn't spinning when the film advances I believe that something is broken (am I right that the sprocket should spin when the film advances?). It is loose and I can turn it about 360 degrees with my finger until it starts to lock. When firing the shutter it unlocks but doesn't spin.

Any ideas?
Is there anybody in Europe who repairs Contax RX bodies or should I go for a RTS III...

Thanks!

Santino,

I see that no one has responded to your request.

I love my Contax 35mm & 645 system, so check out this link I'm placing here for all to use:

http://global.kyocera.com/prdct/optical/global/index.html

I hope that these repair stations are still operational, as I helped a fellow Contax 645 under from Turkey obtain help from Tocad America (North America 's Kyocera Rep) for repairs.

Since you are in Austria, here is the Germany contact information:

TRITEC GmbH

Kolpingstrasse 5, Vechelde D-38159, Germany
TEL: 49-5302-9181-0
FAX: 49-5302-9181-49

I hope that they could help you with your RX. Love those Zeiss optics!

Evan

I would think any decent repair shop should be able to handle it. I think parts are available from Kyocera. TOCAD is USA offered to sell me the part I need for my RTS III, but I had them send it to Japan for repair and while there a service. Price was reasonable and repair time was pretty quick. You could send it to Kyocera in Japan if push came to shove.

Hi santino,

3 years ago I had a similar problem with a 137MA. I did some web research. As a result I sent it to:

FTM Foto und Technik M. GmbH - Holger Maack
Sumpfläuferweg 29
21147 Hamburg
+49-40-7966666

The result was okay. But if I remember correctly Tritec was also recommended by others.
