Well this is quite a surprise. In my previous thread I mentioned that this lens would simply not turn and lock into place and the problem seemed to be a common problem for lenses produced in 1984. I was planning on shaving some metal off of what I call the three 'claws' on the lens so that they would not interfere with the rotation of the lens bayonet upon engagement with the internal lens mount of my Kiev II, III and IV.

Today I received in the mail a Contax II (1937) and decided to try the Helios 103 on this camera. I had no problems whatsoever in rotating the lens and locking it into place. It was however a bit difficult to squeeze into the lens mount but once inserted, no problem with locking the lens into place. This is quite a surprise and I am not sure why it now works with the Contax. My youngest lens with my oldest camera. No generation gap at all. Can someone explain this? Thanks for everyone's help with this matter.

The lens fits across the Contax, Kiev and Nikon are marginal, the Helios may never have been tried on a camera.

Take some photos some H103 are really good, other wise sell and buy another.
