Problem with Rapid Omega 180 lens

Hi folks,

I just got a Rapid Omega 200 with three lenses, and I love the heft of it. The 90 and 58mm lenses check out okay in terms of alignment with the rangefinder, but the 180 never lines up. That is, even at infinity I can't get the two images to superimpose. Anybody have an idea what's going on with that? Something I can fix? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.....John/sooner

You might want to shoot an email to Konica guru Greg Weber (http://www.webercamera.com/), but since it's limited to 1 lens, my guess would be that there's an issue w/the linkage between the lens & the RF mechanism (the pin(s) sticking out of the top of the back of the lens), similar to the link between the lens cam & the roller in the body of a Leica.

I had a focusing issue with my 135mm that Greg Weber fixed earlier this year. He said it was somewhat common for the telephoto lenses to have rangefinder alignment issues, which in my case resulted in the RF appearing to line up in the VF, but the actual focus being off unless I was stopped down to f/16 or a smaller aperture. I sent him my camera, 90mm (to help calibrate the RF) and 135mm and since he did the repair (he had also calibrated my 58mm as part of an earlier repair a few years ago), the 135mm has been spot on.

I second calling Greg - he's a good guy and expert on Konis.
