Hi all,

Two queries:

1. My Nikon 4000 is currently scanning much slower than it used to. In addition, it now scans the images misaligned so that image 1, for example, will scan as half of image 1 plus half of image 2. So 2 half images instead of one complete image. This happens no matter how many images I feed into the machine (I have tried 3-6 images).

Is this going to be a costly repair? Is it worth repairing?

2. I am also using a Coolscan 9000 to scan 35mm images, using the rotating glass holder. The images scan well but the scan is smaller in size (that is, less megabytes) than the same scan from my 4000. 4000 scans =320mb/ 9000 scans= 220mb

How is it that the 4000 is actually capturing more information than the 9000?

Any help/ comments are appreciated.
