Hello,
I have experienced lost shots, shots that are taken and displayed, but do not show up on the card. Tonight I lost about 6 shots in a row that did not show up at all on the card. I can tell because there is a gap in the continuously numbered shots and I know what I shot!
I am using a brand new Sandisk Extreme III 2 gb cards. I thought it was a card problem but I have seen this issue in two different cards. Another symptomn of the problem is that the display only shows the filename of the file when you press play, not the image. Also, when you look at some of these files in Capture 1, they display the thumbail for a second and then display an icon for TIFF! I am shooting DNG, RAW files exclusively.
Any ideas? I hope the new firmware fixes these writing issues. Has anybody else experienced something like this??
Thanks,
Larry

In all of the year and a half of using my R-D1 with 1GB Extreme3 cards, I can say I have never experienced failed writes unless my (generic!) battery was nearly empty.

My battery was fully charged or nearly so. Has anyone else seen this issue on the M8?
