Processing Lab recommendation for the UK

Hi there,

I'm in the UK and wonder which processing lab people would recommend over here. I have been using Colab but recently they've let me down. I mostly want colour negative prints.

I've also heard people would send their negatives to Germany for processing and printing. Any recommendations?

All the usually services and very quick turnarounds for E6 though they are expensive - but well worth it.

Any other alternatives welcomed.

If you're in the Glasgow area I would recommend http://www.loxleycolour.com. A Pro-Lab without equal.

I've had pretty good results with Boots, but it definitely varies from store to store and time to time. Try a big store with their own Frontier setup etc. and 9-5 on weekdays when the best trained assistants work.

I second Peak Imaging. Very good for both colour and B+W. Often does well in the annual Amateur Phtographer tests.

For a pro lab I have used Leach Colour based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. Used them when I used to do wedding shoots.

For slides try Dlab7.com. They are based in Guernsey and were voted slide Procesor of the Year 2004 in AP. One roll Dev & Mounted - £3.95 incl postage!
