Projection Modified-Petzval Lens on My Pacemaker--

I recently got a $35 projection lens from eBay and attached it to my 4x5" Speed Graphic "Pacemaker" lensboard with tape and rubber bands. It's a Kollmorgen "Snaplite" 5.75" f2 lens meant for 35mm cine projection, and is a modified-Petzval formula. While it only completely covers 4x5" at about four feet and under, I'm still having a lot of fun with it; it swirls and vignettes quite nicely.

All three shots below are recent and on 1998-expired TMAX-100. The shot of the mannequins is cropped and taken at night from the sidewalk in front of a thrift store.

wow! that's quite something! maybe you should look into fabricating something a little bit more sturdy than tape 🙂 I especially like #03, I could see this being used in some moody fashion/portrait photos.

Thanks, Renzsu. Happily, my most recent projection lens from eBay (about $30/US) came with a simple 54mm clamp for the smaller part of the barrel, so I can now update my tape-and-rubber-bands mounting "system".
