Long time no post. I am back in Japan where I can blissfully feed my GAS syndrome.

I am looking for adapters for the Prominent-mount Nokton 50mm f1.5 on behalf of a friend who owns two of those lenses. I know nothing about the subject and wonder if anyone here could help. I've searched the forum without an answer to my problem.

The idea would be to mount the Prominent lens to either LTM, M or Fuji-X.

My friend tells me that the readily available Kipon Prominent to M adapter is a piece of crap. So be it. He also sends me a picture of a Voigtlander adapter called M39 127/30 that I could find here. See the attached picture. But here is my question. The Kipon adapter has a focus ring, while the Voigtlander one has none. Is it still possible to focus with the 127/30 one? If not, what is it for?

Subsidiary question as I know nothing about adapters (I am a very conservative guy who use native lenses only). What would be the effect of stacking those? Say Prominent to LTM + LTM to M + M to Fuji-X.

Thanks a lot for your help. Do not hesitate to redirect me to a thread that may enlighten me.

I have the adapter and it worked well. Sold all my Prominent gear (including the lens) and only have the adapter left. With out going on a treasure hunt though I think it is a Kipon. Not sure why he thinks it is a piece of crap. Almost any adapter loses the the simplicity of a made for camera mount.

Thank you for your answers. So if I understand it right, the way to go would be to turn the Proeminent into an S-mount, then into a Leica one.

Does anybody have an idea about the use of that Voigtlander 127/130 adapter. The picture shows the Nokton mounted to a Barnack. But if it cannot be focussed, what's the use, then?

That, I don't know...

Yes, Amedeo is certainly the man who can help with that issue.

Well, it doesn't make much sense, but:
For an enlarger, perhaps?
Or with a reflex housing plus bellows for macro photography?

For an enlarger, perhaps?

Oh! A Nokton on an enlarger! That's snazzy!
But this would work indeed... Now I'm thinking about mounting my El-Nikkor on my IIf with crazy adapters.

Well, this Voigtlander ring is a mystery, but thank you very much for your help! I'll forward the information to my acquaintance.

I got a Prominent this weekend with the Nokton lens, and was dying to try it out. So I put an LTM adapter on the Fuji XE-1, then a Leica Nookie on that. The lens won't focus at infinity, but that's ok with me. Seems to be a fantastic lens. Early morning shot:
