Proof John Lennon was only Human

It's a nice car, although a blue '65 911 looks so much better to me.

But his Rolls was probably one of the ugliest of all time, don't you think so?

I do not think it's kind of psychedelic paint (like The Merry Pranksters' Furthr), it's just bad taste....

folks,

to the original post
whether or not that car is attractive or not is not the issue.

WHERE that car compares to the OTHER Ferraris that Lennon could have chosen at that time IS the issue.

Compared to the masterpieces of artistic design Lennon could have chosen on the same dealer's floor room, the 1965 330 GT 2+2 is butt ugly to my eyes.

Considering what a true artist John Lennon was, that car choice seems very very very out of place to me. Now show me a shot of Steve Jobs with his pocket protector and slide rule.

Well, I was just sticking with the UK competition. Buy suspiciously unpatriotic foreign cars (which probably smell of garlic) and there's even more choice. Lennon was just under 10 years older than I; at the same age, I think I'd have gone for a 1920s Speed Six. The TD21 Alvis had ceased production in 1963 but Bristol's then-current 408 was (for my money, if I'd had it at the time) a nicer car than the Ferrari.

Cheers,

R.

Well, the 1963 250 GTO is probably the sexiest sport car ever built, even if it does smell of garlic.

Good looking car. Plus, it has a decent size back seat. 🙂 In some ways much more practical than, say, a Dino ...

A Ferrari mechanic friend says that the Dino, not having 12 cylinders is not a Ferrari - it's a Fiat. All Ferraris have 12 cylinder engines.

Paint Lennon's car red and move on..

De gustibus non disputandum; I kinda like it. It's certainly not ugly to me. It's definitely more understated than other Ferraries, but not in a bad way.

Best you ask him, then, what manner of car Ascari raced to the title, in '52 and '53. With only four cylinders under the bonnet, clearly, it wasn't a Ferrari...or was it?
Cheers
