Right now I'm using 2.0 on my trusty iMac and I'm wondering if there are really enough features added to make it worth my bucks. I've read the specs and reviews, downloaded the demo (the trial period ran out while I was accumulating photos to edit :bang
and I'm just not sure if this is a must-have.
Anybody want to toss out an opinion?

hey doug,
i don't think it is, though i am not a heavy user. it seems most of the updates went into the windows version of 3.0. i'm not sure what your workflow is, but elements for mac assumes you are using iphoto as the browser and ps for editing. i wasn't crazy about iphotos layout and the fact that it starts bogging down as you add more photos.
i invested in graphicconverter and use that for filing and the full screen slideshow feature is awesome. working in batches and losless rotation is also great. although i still like to edit mostly in elements 2- it just feels better- gc is pretty comprehensive.
these programs work great together. best 30 bucks i ever spent. you can find it at versiontracker.com

Think Different
3.0's biggest benefit is its ability to use the RAW format. Other than that, both versions of Elements are pretty much identical. It only cost me $30.00 to upgrade (lot of rebates) so I did. Don't know if I would if I had to pay full price.

Heretic
Doug, I use Elements 2 on a G3 and didn't see anything in PE3 that made me feel I had to run out and upgrade. Heck, I still use PS5 for a lot of photo work.
