I´m trying to figure out how to scale a batch of pictures that are in both horizontal and vertical format. It seems to be a mystery how to do that with Photoshop CS5.1. In an earlier version I have used previously, there was a menu function specifically for this purpose.

Can anyone here help?

Make a simple action where you use a certain percentage to scale and then run that as a batch command?

CS5.1 still has that function which can be found under File-Scripts-Image Processor.
This gives me the same result as File->Automate->Fit Image, which is 3000x2000 horizontal files and 1333x2000 vertical files, when I choose "Width: 3000px" and "Height: 2000px". In the function I have used earlier, I was able to choose a given size for the longest or the shortest side. In this case I would choose 3000px for the longest side.

Am I using your suggested menu function the wrong way?
