Hey all,

I know It's not a rangefinder but pretty psyched I just bought a YASHICA T4 the Kyocera & Carl Zeiss Tessar 35/3.5 Version. Anyone ever shoot with this camera?

I've never heard of the Yashica T4, so I looked it up. Google sent me to this picture, so I want one now.

HAhahaha thats funny. He does use one I think. You know I got it because it's lighter than my dslr and old rangefinder and has a sweet lens. I do lots of cycling and shoot my friends a lot when hanging so this is pretty compact for me. I want to shoot some color film with it.

I had the T4 with Kyocera brand name on it (Kyocera Slim-T). I bought it new in the 90s without knowing anything about Carl Zeiss nor its worshiped inscription T*. It was a good camera indeed, but IMHO I think any fixed focal length P&S in the same era could produce as good photograph as that with the T4. (I sold my T4 last year)

Slightly off-topic: I shot an archeological find of a T2 ad on my way to a camera store which had a T4 for $50. Kicked myself for not getting it when I saw it, for it was gone when I came back later that day.

Hi y'all,

This thread did seem more pertinent in the Point & Shoot section, so I've moved it there with an expiring redirect.

The Yashica T4 was/is certainly a nice performer. It's lens was closely related to the same lens fitted on Contax T models in the same class, a very nicer camera indeed. I had a couple of the Contax T series cameras and always had great results with them.

enjoy,
G
