Another forum I'm on called for a photo challenge, so I did my walk around Roanoke, VA with an Olympus 35 SPn, and Ilford FP4 Plus 125 with orange filter.

One of our Senators has an office in this building, though he only comes to town about once a year.

Phil--excellent series! I traveled to Roanoke frequently in the early 80s--loved it! Very nice town. Visits to the N+W shops were always fun..probably can't do that anymore...thanks again for the pix. What is the other forum you're on?

Thank you for these inages of Roanoke. It was the closest "large city" to Blacksburg where Virgina Tech is located (Go Hokies!). Roanoke used to be a major railroad hub in this part of the USA. I enjoyed taking the scenic route from Blacksburg to Roanoke, with rolling hills and farms and small streams. I started getting deeper into photography then and there.

Nice series about Roanoke. Good timing on that hearst, love that. I was up there Thursday but working. One stop then it was back toward Greensboro.

Thanks, Greg. I was looking out to make sure some bus wasn't going to block my view, and saw the hearse coming along just at the right moment.

Thanks, Raid. I knew when I moved here that sooner or later I would get back into photography big time.
