This is directed at all the menbers who purchased items from me. I have not taken an extended trip to the south seas or moved to the FSU. I had a rather unpleasent domestic problem. As a result I lost access to my stuff it took me the better part of last week to get things back together and get the stuff shipped (all items were shipped as of last week and some may have arrived already). I have several pages of mail and a full pm box to deal with. I will be contacting all the menbers with shipping info and providing tracking and or copies of the shipping info. It was not my intent to cause anyone undo stress and anyone who simply wants to return any item will be offered a full refund no question. Once again let me offer this apology for the problems caused. John

Hi John K

I am pleased to see you back here.

And very sorry that other members who get so 'group huggy' at times doubted your sincerity.

You sent out the stuff they bought, it will arrive, they can wait another few days.

Take it easy.

As a rule I prefer to avoid group hugs. But under the circumstances now may be a could time to show support for John, a member many us respected in the past. I finally received a PM from him this morning so I'm satisfied. So what ever the circumstances that caused all this strife. I hope that John can feel welcome here again, and those of us who can will just all let it go. Finis.

I've met john in person, and it's good to have my gut feelings validated. He's a good guy. Sometimes crappy things happen to good people. Best wishes, John!

John K,
got my camera yesterday. It seems to operate very smoothly. I need to load up some film and shoot. Sorry about your troubles, and you already know how I felt about this situation. Apology accepted.

Jon Claremont,
Were you one of the folks who purchased items from John K in this latest sale? If not, then at best you are an outsider looking in regarding this situation. Very likely you have no valid stance to comment about sincerity in this instance.

Sincerely,
Sherman Chow

What Frank and Mike said.
John is a good guy and I'm sure it was eating at him when he was unable to make good on the deals he'd made.

To be honest, I can't really say anything for/against anybody's opinion; I've not heard of you, flashover, before. However, this doesn't keep me from expressing sympathy towards encountered problems.

from fiddler on the roof:

To life! To life! Legheim!
Legheim, my brother...my wife!
Here's to the father I've tried to be...
Here's to my bride-to-be!
Drink legheim...to life

John,

I don't know you, and I have no pending business dealings with you. I am not party to this situation, but due to the circumstances, I think most of us here on RFF have read this or that about it. I have no doubt many have drawn their own conclusions about the situation and about your actions or lack of same.

I cannot speak for others, but I feel I have to say this, and I mean it in all honesty and without rancor - this public wearing of the hair shirt strikes me as a unnecessary, unusual, uncomfortable for me to read, and just a tad on the creepy side. If you are experiencing family problems of the sort we are all most likely imagining, then I have full sympathy for you. On the other hand, if you are indeed intending to continue a dishonest enterprise, then I would not be surprised to find lie piled on top of lie, each intended to arouse maximum public sympathy. I have dealt with too many pathological liars in my lifetime, including those in *my* own family, to just instantly accept whatever explanation is given. My potential sympathy is tempered by my personal history.

However, neither I nor anyone else here who has not had dealings with you is due any explanation or apology - you have not harmed us in any way. If your reputation has suffered due to forces beyond your control, I feel a better way to restore that reputation would be to engage in dialogue and reparations with those who have pending deals with you, in private. If I know the members of RFF at all well, they'll report positive results as quickly as they reported potential shady dealings. This would mean far more to me than any apology by you.

Public apologies are appropriate when a person's actions have wronged or offended a large segment of the public readership of RFF. These seem to be a series of private deals that have experienced, for whatever reason, various problems. I believe your dealings should more properly be with them, not with the rest of us with regard to this issue.

These are just my feelings on the matter, please do not interpret this as an attack on your character or my lack of belief in the veracity of your explanations.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

Bill don't take this the wrong way but if you read the first line. It was for the benifit of the people involved in these deals with me I didn't intend to gain simpathy from anyone. I was not attemping to gain character referances by this thread. It was offered as an apology plane and simple. As to further dealing I dought there will be any. I posted this in response to an ongoing thread. I have been dealing one on one with those involved. I belive It would be inappropiate for me to conduct any futher dealings here. There are many things I would like to post in response but I will not turn this into a person battle. I belive when I have concluded the transactions to the satisfaction of those involved I will then decide remain involved in this site.
