Pulled the trigger on Leica CM

Never thought I'd own one. It's the only high end compact along with the Ricoh GR21 that I've never had the fortune of owning. I'm well aware of the problems CM's can/do have and I've steered well clear due to the price. Well, I managed to land one for what I'd class as 'relatively cheap', I suppose, for a CM. £299. I received it yesterday and I must admit I'm blown away by the build quality, feel and ergonomics of this camera. I truly hope it takes pictures as good as it looks and feels. I also hope I can get through many rolls before it dies, or at the least it doesn't exhibit the problems that have been well documented.

Any opinions on this camera from users, previous users?

Congratulations!
I also am a new owner of the CM. The quality and sharpness of the images really took me by surprise.
One thing, the apperture/focus select knob on the top will/can easily be changed without intent. It happened to me once in the first two rolls. You have to watch that.

Loved mine, just got paranoid about the lack of repair ability. I've owned basically every luxury point and shoot from the era and it's got the best lens going (well, tied with the T3 and 28TI).

One thing nobody talks about is the nearly silent shutter. It can be very unobtrusive, certainly something I value.

Thanks. I was quite shocked at how quiet the lens is when it pops out. I struggle to hear any noise. Lovely and smooth. Yes, I noticed that the AF/MF control was easily turned. Thanks, I'll watch out for that. Also, the shutter noise. Amazingly quiet for a compact. It's not too far off my Contax T.

I'm really looking forward to trying it out this weekend. Hopefully, it'll snow for Christmas!!! Love snow pics.

Best P&S I ever had. Did have to sent it to Solms 3 times before they had it working properly.
Then sold it when I heard that it can not be repaired at all any more.
But I do somehow regret it I sold it.
