I agree with Back Alley 100%.

You sound like one if the shills I have had to deal with WAY to many times as a moderator on another photography website. Learn some tact and bring up issues like this in private first. Particularly when posting your "issue" makes you look like a hypocritical fool.

And as for having images in the gallery being some sort of a requirement before someone is "worthy"; the day that I need validation for my photography from random internet forum posters is the day I stop shooting.

It's not a matter of validation. It's a question of "purpose". Anyone can post a thread - you've just demonstated that.

To paraphrase an old movie line:

"Show me the pictures."

What do you DO with your gear?

What do you DO with your gear?

I use my gear to hold down tarps over rusting cars in my yard.

Or maybe I'm a pro shooter who has been published in magazines around the world.

Or maybe I just take snapshots of my friends and family.

Or maybe it doesn't matter.

Sir, I salute your superior wit.
Any man who writes a line that causes the vodka to spurt from my nose is worthy of my respect.

So what is everyones favourite film ??? Just wondering.. I'm looking for some options when I shoot and upload into the gallery. I always like new ideas.

cheers, Jan

Or maybe you just don't have any RF photos to share?

Tetris is running a thread and inviting uploads - go for it...

I'm always up for some Tri-X.

Now, if only I had some...

I'm working with my stash of expired TMX and TMY now, Jan. TMX is great in Rodinal (or so I've found, in my own opinion) and I used to dunk TMY in D76...thinking of trying my TMY in Rodinal also now.

Jan,

In all seriousness, I'm in a dilemma on this.

I prefer the pro stuff (e.g. T-Max 400) but since I do not do my own developing I am at the mercy of "pro" labs that seem to think that scratches are okay.

If I shoot the chromogenic stuff I get "ordinary" one-hour processing - but the pics lack the "depth" of pro stuff and I find I need to "desaturate" in PS in order to get true B&W.

I know I should start developing my own film (at least B&W) but just really don't want to do so.

George, once you do it you can't *stop* doing it. It's kind of addicting. You pull your first negatives out and you realize that you did that yourself...and then you want to do it again and again and again. Heh. Could just be my addictive personality coming through, but I've heard the same from others.

I don't know what the best film is, but I kind a lean toward HP5+ and VX400. Thanks. 🙂

I agree completely ... my favorite addiction...

We used to not see this kind of crap on this forum, that was why it was unique. And refreshing. We've lost alot of good members because of this confrontational, argumentive b.s.
I'm not leaving, but it's time for me to begin to employ the "ignore" function, and I can't believe it has come to this.
