I've been keeping up with this thread:
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61643
about the using low dilutions of Rodinal for pushing. It's the general consensus that pushing Arista II (most people assume it to be APX400) with almost anything is a bad idea, but I recently did a roll in Rodinal at 1:100 for two hours and I'm REALLY happy with the results. I shot half the roll at 800 and half the roll at 1600 and souped it in 600mls water and 6mls of Rodinal. I did 1 minute of inversions then stand for an hour. I did one "swish" at an hour, not a full inversion, just swirled the tank a bit, then let it stand another hour. Here's what I got:

Shot at ISO 800:

The rest where shot at 1600:

Here's a 100% crop:

All in all I'm very happy with the sharpness and shadow detail. The grain looks really good too. All the above pics just had levels and a very light unsharp mask applied by the scanner.

Great shots, even better to hear it came from stand developing rodinal.
Mind if I asked what scanner was used for these images?

and yeah.. the contrast is lower than if I shot at box speed, but the subjects themselves where fairly low contrast to begin with. I'm going to try shooting some night shots on the street and see how it handles it.

looks quite good. The 800-one has grain like what i've got from apx400 in 1:50 rodinal normal development. worth of trying for me as well, i guess!

next time I think I'll try stand developing with HC110.. though I have to admit once I picked up some rodinal I havent been back to the HC110 at all.
