Pushing Neopan

So,

I shot a roll of Neopan 400 and rated it at 1600 thought I was pretty cool last night. However sober with my wits about me today, would like to ask of you all what is a good combination of time and developer for the "push" that I did last night.

I've done the exact same thing a few times. I used T-Max Developer at the rated time on the box. The results are nice.

Rated time for which film/iso? Neopan 400 or 1600?

Sorry that wasnt very clear. I dont have a box on hand but this info from digitaltruth is the same:

Neopan 400 @ 1600 in 1+4 dillution of T-Max Dev at 20 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.

I really like Neopan 400 @ 1600, but I prefer Neopan 1600 @ 1600.

It can be very 'noir'

and stays great at 3200

Don't know about Neopan 100, but Neopan 400 pushes to around 800 quite nicely in Diafine---acutance/details are excellent.

I assume you mean Acros? (Not 100SS). Pushes alright to 400 but I'd use Neopan 400 instead.

Oh, and if you do mean Acros and you're talking Diafine, then no. See the Diafine box. It actually shows Acros at 200 for use with Diafine, but interestingly enough a longer time than almost all other films (5 min instead of 3 min). Likely not worth only one stop of speed....

In Diafine if you're looking for a faster speed use Tri-X shot at 1200-1600. Very nice, IMO. Or Plus-X at 400.

Wow. This must be the first time anyone has said Neopan 100 and meant 100SS and not Acros.

I personally really like 100SS and have shot a few rolls. (see three examples attached below). I have two 100' bulk rolls of 100SS I bought shipped in from Japan in my freezer that I'll be getting to soon as well.

I've never pushed it. My sense is it would not work very well unless you want some major grain and contrast. it's a VERY old school film with a bit of grain for a 100 speed film even at 100 speed. Might be worth a try. I have NO idea what it would do in Diafine. And neither does The Massive Development Chart either it seems.

My first roll of 100SS came out extremely over exposed when developed in diafine. I also experienced meter problem that day so I don't know if it's related to that. Either case, the film was extremely grainy for a 100 film.
