Provia 400F is especially good for pushing. I've run it to 1600 with very good results, and I know at least one photog who regularly runs it at 3200 with suprisingly good results.

Grain increases a fair bit so it works better on 120

I don't see the point of pushing 100 speed film to 400 when you can buy 400 speed film. Pushing is always a compromise.

It increases the contrast and sort of bleaches the mid-tones, handy in fashion work to give the models a pale flawless look, but no I don’t see the point either
