Fall! Time to put away that black and white stock and take out the Velvia (or in my case - fake digital Velvia)... Post your colorful fall photos here... Here's a few with the fam from this weekend taken with my "Digital GSN" - (Nikon D5000 in "silent shutter mode" with "rangefinder" mode on, w/ 35/1.8 DX lens [the only lens I ever intend to buy/use with this camera]...)

We do not have much leaf color here this fall, but we do have deep blue:

And of course there are NO textures worth photographing, no mists, no light breaking through clouds, nothing bathed in soft overcast light... in fact, nothing worth shooting in B+W at all. Or colour.

- Except memories of one's family on a fall day during November of 2010. But this thread is young my cantankerous pals. Prehaps some other contributors have such photos of which you speak... I hope so! Prehaps you have something to share other than "insights"?

Maybe I do? Is it the "good" kind?

Fly agaric. It's rather poisonous if eaten raw but druids and some other ancient tribes dried it and soaked it in water to get some serious psychedelic effects. It's not one of those 'magic mushrooms' though.

Dang Stewart, that post just cost me some coffee, which got spewed all over my desk. Nice post, but dark.

Confederate roses, actually a type of Chinese hibiscus, bloom here in the South in mid-autumn. The blossoms open pink in the morning, but turn red by nightfall and are almost enclosed by the sepal by the next morning - and dead. FE2, Nikkor 50/1.8, Ferrania 100
