I was picking up my M8 to have its sensor cleaned and guess my LTM to M adaptor is stuck there.

Bollocks, I think, Im going for a 5 day trip and want to take my M.

On my photoshelf, I see my last birthday present to myself , a Leica MP Anthracite. Used a couple of rolls since then and I say "heck, why not?"

Picked up the MP + Noctilux and here I go. Few rolls of T MAX and I pick up some cheap color film ther and process it on the 1hour labs.

Actually, thats one thing I never did : develop my own B/W film.

Spent the whole afternoon reading how to develop it and to be honest, seems pretty much easy and fun.

Not thinking to enlarge and print : just developing the negs at home.

So to commemorate my return to film, I bought 10 rolls of Fomapan 100, 5 rolls of Fomapan 400, 5 rolls of Delta 3200 and 10 Rolls of Velvia 50 ( I'm a sucker for slides :) ).

My MP is a beauty but I reliased that I didnt bought to resell it afterwards : I prefer to pass it on to a son and the camera to be hard used and have many stories to tell about each scratch and bump rather than to sell it for the M10 or M11 in pristine condition.

Thought I would share :)

ps : I thought recently to sell it for a M9. But.... the M9 is a fine camera but in 5 years will be worth peanuts and the MP will still be a very capable camera taht will hold its value very well :)

Let's hope they don't stop making film in five years or all of our film cameras will be worth nothing

well that's why I got a MP Anthracite in the first place : even if they stop doing film and its worth nothing - its still a beauty to look at in a shelf :)

oh I dream of have the space and funds to have me a darkroom of my own! It is still pretty time consuming in order to get only a couple of shots printed but my experience with it is that I'm a newby at paper print! I remember back in architecture school when I learn a full year how to devellop and print and taking picture at the same time. Now I realize of an easy prey as I was back then : I printed all my picture with the enlarging lens at full aperture! I did not understood why my picture were so so reguarding sharpness
