QL17 GIII Shutter Question

So I received my QL17 GIII today, and had a play with it. However, I've noticed that the shutter won't fire in auto mode 🙁. I've got a battery in (LR9 in place of the standard PX625), but the meter doesn't actually do anything either 🙁.

I'm probably doing something stupid, but if someone can point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful 🙂.

Well, first thing is to elimanate the obvious. Did you remove the lens cap? The meter doesn't work and the shutter won't fire with the lens cap on.

Yep, lens cap off 😉. No joy.

They are known for having the wire corrode off the battery compartment.
I'd check that wire first.

I doubt I'll get in there myself, I'll probably get it looked at when I have it CLA'd. Now, where's Kim...? 🙂.
