Hi!
I'm looking around for a good Canonet QL17 GIII.
It was the first camera I took in my hands, my father had given it to me when I was 11 yo. What a present! 🙂

I took a lot o pics with it, and then, years later, the camera was stolen.

Now is possible to find good QL17s on Ebay, but I really don't know which are the weaky points.
What should I look carefully for?
Are the batteryes still on sale?

Thanks!

Mercury batteries are more and more difficult to find. In my experience, with negative film, the meter is close enough when you use silver or alkaline cells. You can use zinc air hearing aid batteries if you're handy making up an adapter. Otherwise, pretend it's a Leica M3, and meter with a handheld meter.

Carburo, I think Rover has one for sale, and I think FrankS has at least one, available for trade (or sale?)...

Check out the 35mm Classifieds forum here on RFF.
