QL17 question - manual operation

I am wondering if a Canonet GIII QL17 will work properly with manual setting with no battery fitted, and are any settings visible in the viewfinder ?

I'm not familiar with this camera at all and I've looked on some websites but can't find a specific answer to whether it still works with no battery.

Yep!!!!! No problem using in manual without batteries 😉

No readings through the viewfinder as the meter doesn't work in manual and no battery to operate it 🙂

The camera itself is fully manual. The only thing the battery is for is the run the meter. If you have a handheld, you won't need the battery at all. I've found the camera is much more enjoyable to use without the them.
