I am wondering if a Canonet GIII QL17 will work properly with manual setting with no battery fitted, and are any settings visible in the viewfinder ?
I'm not familiar with this camera at all and I've looked on some websites but can't find a specific answer to whether it still works with no battery.

Yep!!!!! No problem using in manual without batteries
No readings through the viewfinder as the meter doesn't work in manual and no battery to operate it

The camera itself is fully manual. The only thing the battery is for is the run the meter. If you have a handheld, you won't need the battery at all. I've found the camera is much more enjoyable to use without the them.
