Evening all
I brought a QL19 from a car boot sale for 3 quid last week, it looks in a shocking state - I've given myself the challenge of getting it up and running again:
FAULTS:
1) Broken rangefinder glass to the front
2) Won't fire at 1/4 s but fires at all other faster speeds
3) Aperture sticking shut
4) Battery Dead (if thats a fault)
6) Light seals gone
So far I've nailed 2) and 3) by opening the front element and pouring in liberal doses of butane, followed by mopping up and leaving to dry. I have 1) in hand as by buying an earlier dead canonet from ebay soley for a bit of glass, for £2.39 - I get a case too for it - my new expensive hobby has cost me £6.39 so far including a quid for a tube of lighter gas.
I'm will fit new light seals too, but I'll run a film through it with gaffa tape seals if needs be, until I'm convinced that all is working as it should be!
I could do with help on calibrating the canonet meter so it can run on a 1.5v battery, the sort that are easily avalable nowdays rather than ancient 1.35V ones - can anyone give me any pointers with this?
