Qn about 50mm Voigt ext viewfinder close framelines

Hello all, I just got a 50mm Voigtlander external viewfinder to put on my Bessa T, but on the way from the shop to home I seem to have lost any instructions that came with it. So my question is- do they tell you in the instructions what distance the lower down close focus frameline at the top of the viewfinder is for?

I can't remember getting an instruction leaflet with the 50mm finder. I bought it through the official Dutch distributor, so it probably doesn't even come with one.

It's indeed listed as 1m/3ft on the Cameraquest website, though I have a hard time believing that. When I focus at 1m and use the parrallax correction marks, I invariably get chopped off subjects. In practice -when on my Bessa T- they seem better suited for the 1.5-2m range.

That's interesting Peter: I don't have a 50mm finder, but at 3ft/1 metre the parallax corrected 35mm lines on my Bessa R correspond very closely with the dotted line of the 35mm finder. I would have thought the 50mm finder would have been similarly accurate. I wonder if there is a variation in shoe height between different bodies?

Cheers, Ian

Like Jocko said, specs are 3 feet. See:

But it might be done for the R*, and the T has a lower profile. Best is do put a screen
on the back and try it out.

Roland.
With the lower profile of the T, it should be less of a parallax problem there, shouldn't it?

What also might be the case, is that the position of the eye behind the finder is important. It's a 1:1 finder, which by itself is splendid, but it does require you to have your eye real close to the finder. Perhaps I'm not centering my eye properly.
