Like the title says, Queensland, Australia - on film.

Queensland is a big place. I'll be posting some shots from my little corner, feel free to add yours if you're a resident or just visiting. Any camera is good - as long as it's on film.

Here are two to get started:

A year or so ago I jumped in my car, left Brisabane and drove to Longreach via Roma Blackall etc and saw some of the most amazing country I've seen in my life then came back the alternate route inland down to Cunamulla then back east. I have some of the best photos I've ever taken but sadly .. with my M240. It seems I wasted my time and never saw or actually photographed Queensland at all because I chose the incorrect media! The outback is where you find the real Queensland and the real Queenslanders ... shame I can't show anyone! :)

If only Keith!
You'll have to redo that trip with the correct media!

I agree with your assessment of outback Qld though, it is amazing and far more diverse than most people think. When I first moved to Brisbane in my early 20s I made the point of leaving town every weekend and driving somewhere I hadn't been before. Unfortunately those trips were never photographed...

Great idea, Michaelwj. As a shameful Sydneysider I haven't seen much of Queensland at all - just the touristy bits like Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast, and some of that was decades ago. This thread could reach the heights of the Hanoi thread.
I do think you might relax the film requirement though, if only to see Keith's shots. Perhaps just a one-off exemption for our esteemed member.

Nice thread. I have happy memories of camping in the campground at Kirra in the 60s, and also at Tugun and Caloundra. There was a steam train from Brisbane that terminated at Coolangatta - captured on 16mm Kodachrome movie film using a spring-wind Kodak Cine camera (which I still have).

Keep the pictures coming! And another vote to include Keith's M240 pics.

Here's Coolangatta beach on a winter day in 1975

I'd love to see them! Start a new thread. A sister one to this one.

Loving the kodachrome Lynn!

That street view image should be on the "lens flare" thread! Best street view I've seen.

Keith - post the bloody things anyway - since when have Queenslanders been sticklers for protocol ?!%&#

Or start another thread and let us see them.

Looks like a nice place Michael - you've captured the feel of the coastal Qld bush.. I've never been there, only once visited Fraser Is on one of those 4WD bus tours. Not the ideal way to experience the great outdoors :bang:
