Query: 90mm Collapsible Elmar and M6 compatibility?

Ok.. I've searched online and on RFF but I can't locate a definitive answer.

I'm curious if the 90mm collapsible Elmar (f4) can be used on an M6 AND be collapsed.

I have been told that it CANNOT be collapsed on the M6 (and likely M5, M7 etc.) due to metering but I have also been told that it's no problem. I've searched Senor Gandy's site and there's no mention of problems but there's also no mention of there not being problems.

I'm not so concerned about the collapsible cron since it's smaller and shorter in general.

So.. call me dumb because I probably should know the answer to this one but just lay it on me right here 🙂

I don't have a collapsible 90 cron to physically check, but I don't think there is a problem. There is no metering arm in an M6 like in the CL/CLE or M5 to get in the way. Hopefully someone with firsthand experience will respond.

Not sure where you picked up that misinformation (recent photo.net thread?), but the 90/4 collapsible works fine (& can be completely collapsed as intended for storage) on my M6 TTL & M7.
