Hello all, I'm looking for an accessory rangefinder for my newly accquired Euro market Zeiss Contessa K (aka El Cheapy with a Tessar) scale focus camera. I've been looking at the FSU rangefinders - are they adjustable? Can you realign them if something is wrong?.. Just thought I'd ask before finding out the hard way 🙂
Other than that... here's a picture (quesstimate focus, onboard selinuim meter) from the Zeiss:

If I'm not wrong, all accessory rangefinders can be easily realigned by adjusting a small screw, which is itself often easily accessible.

I did buy a BLIK once but it was a bad experience. It fell to bits after a few uses. I may have been unlucky. I have a couple of German ones I picked up a a camera fair that are fine and cost very little.

The Blik should be good enough for your Contessa. I've used it for my RF-less
Agfa Isolette.

I can't exactly recall it now, but for calibrating the Blik, there is a small screw which can be removed for adjustments. If the plastic body doesn't go well with you, you could look for an earlier, all metal bodied "Smena" rangefinder (marked only as "Smena" in script) made for the earlier Smena cameras.

There are adjustment screws under the shoe on mine, but they do tend to fall to bits easily, the mirrors become unglued etc, better to look for a better one, Voigtlander, Leica etc, they are often not very expensive.

When I needed a separate rangefinder, I noticed the Russian rf's read in meters. The shipping charges also made them as expensive as better quality items. I currently use a Walz that reads in feet. It's well-made and accurate. When I really need to measure in meters, I use a really ancient GHD Heydes split-image unit that reads both meters and feet. I prefer the coincident image type, though.
