Question about classifieds need an answer.

As you all know, members who upgrade their membership on the forum, have access to post classifieds in the new classifieds section. Others pay a minimal fee per ad.

I would like to make sure all is working. If you have an upgraded membership and you are asked to pay for an ad, please let me know.

No problems were experienced here, not even when I made an ad before I upgraded my membership, and then edited my ad after.

I have had no problems either. But, maybe once we've paid, the ad for buying the premium membership could disappear on our screens. . . ? Or not. Just an idea.

I had zero response to my ads in the new Classifieds. Does anyone even look in there?

I've had the same result as Ken but put it down to the fact that nobody wants my stuff. No problem creating an ad. I also responded to one of Clarence's ads successfully.

No problems beyond my own computer illiteracy. But I'll second the lack of response comments. I've got a sale pending on my ad but response has been much better in the past.

I placed a WTB add and I'm not a paid member. I feel quilty because I got a response AND got the lens.

I have used it a few times. I Did a 7 day ad for a parts lens on May 4th, today it was still there.
Do the ads stay after their expiration date?
I deleted mine today.

Jorge, in my opinion the new Classifieds have a lot less value than the old because listings don't appear in a "New Posts" search. Can they be modified to show?

FWIW, I'm a mod on a very large vB-based forum on another topic. We had the same issue - when we tried to flip over from a classifieds forum to the new style, traffic dropped almost to nil. Most users on vB use the New Posts function.

I think Ken hit the nail-the old classifieds are still around but aren't on the front-and having a premium ad space means your ad gets less visibility.

I'll get my membership next month, after all, I prefer to deal with gear here with trustworthy members who're into cameras as much as me, I think it's a very reasonable deal. 🙂

I check the old ads daily, its doesnt really bother me that its not on the front page. Its just 2 clicks away! I'll check the new ads once in a while, but not daily.
