Question about M8.2 timer...

When shooting a long exposure, using the timer setting, and after the noise reduction, the LSD momentarily displays many colored pixels but then they disappear. It does this everytime and the longer the exposure the more colored pixels. It doesn't affect the final image.

Is this normal?

That is just the camera applying the black frame it just shot. It gives you an idea of the amount of correcting needed to get the excellent results you do on long exposure.

I have experienced this too and understand it but...
Since the chip heats up when active, on some cameras they have "live view" and it is on for some time, does the chip generate more noise on the second "noise reduction" shot than the actual image due to the chip being ON for twice the time?

Picky Picky, I know, but I've been wondering about that.
