Question about Nikon S3 spring catch release for lens removal?

There are 3 screws on the catch release to remove the lens. The third one, the closest to the button to be pushed. The screw is not all the way in, is that normal? Do I need to screw it in all the way in? I just do not want to lose it. It is half the way out. In case I need to screw it in more, what size of screwdriver do I need?
Help please, can you check your own camera and let me know how your screw is?

All my three screws are screwed into the bottom as far as you can screw it on my S3. I bought a set of small screwdrivers cheaply to have all the sizes for my different cameras and I guess you can find that in many shops.... Good luck! JonR

I've just checked my S3 Y2000 camera, and the last screw is actually not totally screwed into the body. My camera was in absolute new condition (mint and original packaging included) when I bought it 4 months ago, therefore it seems to me perfectly normal.
Look at the pictures from eg. "http://www.nicovandijk.net/rangefinder.htm" most of them looked like the screw isn´t all the way in. I´ve checked thereupon my camera twice, the screw is not threaded at the upper end. In my opinion it´s rigth for a s3 y3000.

The last "screw" isn't an actual screw but a pin guide for the hole drilled in the catch, to ensure that the catch won't turn when depressed.

BTW the hole of the catch and this "screw" must be perfectly aligned so that the catch gets down fully when pressed, or you will break the 50mm lens tab when mounting it !!!

It is may be a little less than 1cm out. Is that normal? Definitely, not flat.

It is being used, daily. I just want to make sure I do not lose the pin, or screw. It is my main camera, I just never noticed before. I just thought maybe it got loose. Just making sure.

If you try to screw them in all they way, you'll quickly find that they are already screwed in all the way 😉

As Fred said, its normal and nothing to worry about.
