I can't help but think the answer is right in front of me, but for the life of me I just can't seem to figure it out. I am trying to size down ten huge Tiff files to smaller jpegs, the shortest side of the image must be exactly 1080 pixels. I can figure out how to set the maximum pixel size on the longest end but not a minimum pixel legnth for the shortest side??? :bang:

Anybody have any tips?

There always the old fashion math method :)
Example for an image that's a 3x2 ratio would be 1620(1080x1.5) by 1080 pixels.
While an 4x5 would be 1080x1350

Oh man, do I feel silly for not thinking of that! Sometimes technology makes me use my brain less than I should! Thanks! :D

I'm using A2 here is what I do
*right click on image
* click on export> version
in dialog box choose file location and name the file then
*click on export preset drop down menu
*click edit at the bottom of the menu
now you have a new dialog box were you may choose size and quality parameters.
on the left hand side of the box there is a list of presets that you may assign these parameters to.
For example set the "medium Jpeg" on the list to 1080x1080 and it will resize all medium jpegs to be max 1080 for any longest size and keep the short side in proportion
Once assigned you change them using the sequence that brought you here.

Hope that helps

Cheers

Thanks Andy! The steps you outlined above are almost exactly the ones I use now and those work great if I want to set the max pix count on the longest size. Unfortunately, I was looking for a similar method to set the minimum pix count on the shortest side. Does A2 have that option?

Yeah I think you can simple plug in your min parameter on the shorter side (width or height whatever the case may be) and leave the other blank. A2 seems to finish the math so to speak :)
