QUESTION: MP Users - Meter Problem?

I never regretted a purchase I didn't make.

I sure have! Back when I was in high school, I could have bought a 1957 Chevy with a 427 engine, running, for $200.

MP board trouble

Dave,

my MP serial 2921*** had a curcuit problem, in the cold (below +5°C) the meterings LEDs would not work. No good for someone like you around Toronto. Leica replaced the board.
Currently MP is in Solms as the 35/135 frames are stuck :(

So never ever compare an M3 to a MP. I have three M3 and three 50 mm M-lenses, if I would have two MP it would be for back up reason.

M 3 is the answer, so think about the question :D

I like my M3 and M7, but the MP is my main camera. That said, I would not buy one with a malfunctioning meter unless the deal the guy is giving you is far below what it costs to fix it. Because let's face it, if you buy it chances are that at some point you will want to fix it, the costs to do so may rise, and even if they don't, you are going to be without your camera for at least 4-5 weeks. So unless he is giving you a barn-burner price (below 1500), I would say just wait to find a functioning one.
