Question of Broken, Not Broken

Recently, My Contax IIa’s helicoiod is more spinning, located infinity sign.

This Problem, request two repair shop
- it’s failure of past assembly. I think your contax’s shutter speed or Rangefinder optic is not broken, using now condition.
- Man, It’s not broken.

First Repair Shop is one of famous repair shop of ROK. But my think it’s abnormal situlation, so question to forum. It’s really ‘not broken’ this?

The Infinity Latch (cool name for a movie) is not dropping into place.
Some owners want to block this mechanism, find it annoying when using the camera. I blocked it for one person before.

If yours started doing this on its own- probably needs cleaning, can be accessed after removing the front plate.

There are times when I can understand the temptation to block it 🤣 but I also like having it there both when I was using Contax/Kiev cameras and now with Nikon RFs.
