Today I looked at a Mamiya 6 MF body I am considering buying but found that the the shutter speed dial moves between the A and AEL settings without depressing the central button. I seem to remember from previously owning one that it should lock in both the A and AEL positions independently. I have checked the manual from online downloads and I think there might be a problem. If anyone can confirm this it would be great help. The rest if the camera is in great condition but this worries me.

on my mamiy 6 you can move between the AEL and A positions without depressing the central button.

to return back to manual shutter settings {B to 500} one has to then depress the central button.

Thanks for that reassurance. I also tried another camera in the shop and that was the same. Anyway I bought it so I'm a Mamiya 6 owner again. I had to let the Fuji 6x9 go but I'm looking forward to carrying a smaller camera, getting 12 on a roll, metering with AE... and those lenses of course. All I need now is for this storm to pass so I can try it.

Matt.
