Question to all of you about film

I think 4x5 with all the adjustment for perspective is a great thing to be able to do. The image quality also is just better. My only issue is cost of the film. Sheet film is not like buying a roll of 24 Kodak or Fuji print film. Also you need a lab around you if you want to do enlargement or colour printing. Unless you are prepared to spend even more to set up a wet darkroom and purchase printing equipment and have the space to do this. Most people find the last difficult.

Despite these drawbacks.. it's like fine wine. You pay a lot, but the taste... nothing compares.

Good luck

Jan: Lynn has an 8x10 darkroom setup available for purchase ... not sure of the cost, but it seemed like it was possible. I wouldn't be doing much colour printing myself unless I were retired and had the time.

You are quite right about the cost of 4x5 film, especially colour. B&W can be had at a discount for short-dated stock. From a reliable seller that has properly stored the film, it's not much of a risk for b&w.
