Hi,

I have just bought an M5 and a Voigtlander 35mm 1.7 VM Ultron and I'm really happy with it.

Now I'm looking for a 21mm lens. I will use it on film, for B/W (FP4 plus, HP5 Plus, Delta3200) for a special project.

I will try to do a photographic work around an old ship and its fishermen. Today they use this old ship to fish in the old style fishing and I think it would be GREAT to do a photographic work in old style also, with my M5 and two lenses.

They use to go to fish in the afternoon and come back in the morning, so there will not be too much light and I think it would be great to have a great aperture 21mm lens.

have you used this 21mm ultron in film? how do you feel it? too big? How with the external viewfinder?

Thank you very much for your help...
Xabier.

Some shots I did to this ship:

All photos I did with the Sony A7 and the Voigtlander 35mm 1.7 VM Ultron.

I don't see why the 21/1.8 would be any different on film. It's a great lens on digital. I compared it against Leica's 21/1.4 and there is not much difference between the two, with some aspects better by the Voigtlander. Really, if you need a fast 21mm, you only have two options - the 21/1.8 and the 21/1.4. The huge price difference does not equal a huge image quality difference. BTW, both lenses are large.
