OK guys, one last question -- what are the ramifications of later using a lens with this type of pin mod, in say M4's, CLE's, Hexar RF's, and M6's, M8 now that it's "50"ish set rather than "35"ish set. ??
The modification is from 50 to 35 - so a modified 40 will simply pull up the 35 on all regular M cameras, the 40 & 50 will be up on the CL & I do not know about the CLE. The M8 is anyones guess until one is in hand.

The modification does affect thngs if you want to use it on a CLE. The default framelnes on a CLE are 28mm. When you attach a lens of 35mm focal length (Or in this case the modifed lens to 35mm) then you will NO LONGER get its 40mm framelines to pop up. The constantly visible 28mm framelnes will be the only ones you will see. So once it has been modifed then its useless for a CLE.
That's what I thought. Just as a CLE 28mm modded lens to bring up 28 vf lines on an M6 will then bring up the 90 vf lines back on the CLE.
Again, think twice before doing lens mods.
