I have come back to home developing over the past year however I have only used liquid developers (mostly TMax developer)

I want to try Microphen for TriX (35mm) @1600. Does anyone have tips for this combo?

Also, when using powder developers, once you mix it up as per the instructions on the box, how long does it last? Any tips for storage?

Please help me understand the ways of powders.

Thanks,
David

Powders are not generally a problem, though some crystals are not so easy to dissolve: but Microphen comes with quite adequate directions. Keeping qualities are pretty much the same as those of liquid based developers.

I used Microphen a great deal in the 1970s. Exposed ASA 125 film at ASA 160, if I remember. You are looking for a considerably greater increase in emulsion sensitivity. The Ilford site may well have something on this kind of pushing.
