If I adjust the ASA on my M7, it's the same thing as just dialing the EV up or down?

IE, I have 400 ASA film, I want to over expose by 2/3 stop. I can move the ASA dial to 250, or add +2/3 EV.

Is this correct?

Yes, they are the same.

The nice thing about doing it with the EV dial is if you always wanted to rate your film 1/3 of stop slower, no matter what the ISO, then you can dial in +1/3 and the camera will adjust the exposure based off the ISO read and the +1/3.

...and that's exactly what I usually do :)

Kevin- Did you get an M7? If so, welcome to the club!
