quick poll...

What might provoke me to carry a second body or camera is whether I also want to shoot some film. Then I have to think on whether I want 6x6 or 35mm. If 35mm, makes sense to carry the M4-2 body.

what a well spent and productive day!

finished packing my L2 with one body and 3 lenses...another perfect fit...along with the tiny fuji flash...8 sd cards...business cards...4 extra batteries, 5 if i leave the second body at home without power...ipad mini/ear buds and 2 lens cloths...

life is good...

Based on the wonderful Robyn Portreen bag that just arrived + Joe's restrictions, it would be one body (XE1) and 3 lenses (35 1.4, 15 4.5 Heliar, 50 1.4 Canon J-lux)...

[...Even though I KNOW there's room for my GRD IV and CL, too]

what size did you get? pics?

I'm a trusting sort so I'd pack just one body, film type, and three lenses plus B&W film and a compact digital for color.

Might look like this;
OM-1
24 f2.8 Zuiko
35 f2.8 Zuiko
85 f2 Zuiko

and the missus little digital P&S, she carries that herself.

PS, I usually slip in a 200 f5 Zuiko, small, light and all lenses take 49mm filter size.

I got the size bigger than yours--standard compact? You said it was a bit too small. Mine will be good for 2 cams/2 lenses + GRD, iPad, phone, little things. And I'll post a pic in Vince's Ona bag thread--promised I would earlier--but waiting for natural light to shoot it.

It's gorgeous and comfortable. Not as highly pimped as Vince's though.

I like to have a serious camera on a strap and a small digi in my pocket as backup or to cover different focal lengths when I travel. So I'd say one body, three lenses and the RX100...

my guess is it's the medium size...sounds like it...

the GRD fits anywhere, but took these shots. But this bag could accommodate the Rolleiflex + M5 + 50 Planar + 100 Serenar instead.

i do still have it...but cannot imagine using only it for a trip...

In the past and for several trips, all I carried was a Rollei 35S, or a Contax Tix, or a Minox 35GT-E, or a Ricoh GR1, or ... you get my drift. ;-) Never stopped me getting a lot of great photos. The constraint of one camera/one lens pushes you to look and see how you can exploit it more adeptly. I think it inspires creativity.

I'm packing for my trip tonight ... have to make these decisions on what to carry right away. Will be on the road in the UK, without a car, for three weeks so I am focused on light and compact. I'll let you know what I decide after the bag is packed. ;-)

Yes, they are sewn in, but only along the sides, so they can be pushed this way or that. I could pack the GW690 in the center with plenty of side padding, and still have room for a little camera like the GRD, Retina, Ikonta, or Rollei 35s.

2 bodies, 2 lenses.
For the NYC trip, a wide, like a 28 and either a 50 or 75/90 if those are your way of shooting. Maybe a 35/75 or 35/90 combo but in the streets that I often find myself shooting in, I like something a bit wider, even out to 21mm which is one of my favorites.
