Quick question on Fixing film...

Its been ten years since Ive done some film and just got back into it the last few weeks or so...one thing I cant remember is whether you agitate when your fixing the film. Simply cant remember.

Am using Ilford Rapid fixer and it says very little about anything on the bottle.

It should be Done in the same manner as the developper. typically either 5 sec in every 30 sec or 10 sec in every minute.

I've noticed that a lot of the college kids agitate fix like that. I have always agitated rapid fixer continuously, but slowly. Maybe 10-12 inversions per minute. I guess it really doesn't matter since you fix to completion.

I agitate 10 secs per minute for four minutes generally, and so far the negs have held up fine.

I have always agitated fix for the first 30 seconds, then a few inversions every 30 seconds. Just like film. I can't remember why though. I never changed since it always works.
