I am considering buying a Linhof 3D Micro head for my tripod. I borrowed one for my Hasselblad, and absolutely loved it. However, I am going use it primarily with my Mamiya 7ii, which is now my primary camera.

It comes either with a Linhof Quickfix or dovetail track. Is there any reason to prefer one of them over the other with the M7?

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.

These are highly technical heads, in my opinion overkill for a Mamiya 7 as they are meant to hold a Technika size camera, but I understand the appeal and won't try to convince you not to get one. As to the plate, the quickfix plates are pretty large and squareish, and again designed with heavier technical cameras in mind (you can see it in the first and second photos). I would much rather use a Arca plate, which won't stick out so far beyond the footprint of the Mamiya 7. If you do wind up putting a 4x5 camera on the head, an Arca plate will still be strong enough to support it. I suspect the quickfix plate is stronger but haven't tried it.
