Way to go, Lance. Ya killed the thread! Double.LOL!! 😀 😀

One more and I promise I'll quit --- really. And it's not really one to live by, but is rather where some of us do live; just those of us who have ever been [or still are] the children of mothers. 😱

"Soooo... to turn the computer off... you click on 'Start'?" ~ Bill Gates' mom.

The closer you get to the fire, the hotter it burns. Billy Joel

Those that can do, those that can’t teach, those that can’t teach teach teachers, those that can not teach teachers become guidance counselors. My father

I’m not sure on the accuracy of this one, kind of pretty…..

Tao makes one
one makes two

ten thousand things will find peace and happiness in combinations of ying and yang

What, almost sixty replies and nothing from Casey Stengel? Let's rectify that, shall we?

"Don't cut my throat, I may want to do that later myself."

"There comes a time in every man's life, and I've had plenty of them."

"The secret of managing is to keep the guys who hate you away from the guys who are undecided."

"I couldn't have done it without my players."
-- on winning the 1958 World Series

"The trick is growing up without growing old."

"It's wonderful to meet so many friends that I didn't used to like."

"If we're going to win the pennant, we've got to start thinking we're not as good as we think we are."

"They say Yogi Berra is funny. Well, he has a lovely wife and family, a beautiful home, money in the bank and he plays gold with millionaires. What's funny about that?"

And speaking of Yogi, in his own words (Yogi's, that is):

"You should always go to other people's funerals. Otherwise they won't come to yours."

"If you don't know where you're going, chances are you will end up somewhere else."

"The future ain't what it used to be."

"Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."

And so many more...

An entertaining thread, but a lot of fluff. The OP asked for WORDS TO LIVE BY.

For me it boils down to:
-treat others the way you want to be treated
-today is a fine day to die

Well, "Love your neighbor as yourself" is about as good a set of words to live by as you can find.

But on a more humorous level, I've always liked this Dilbert line: "There is nothing as dangerous as a resourceful idiot."

After I chided my very young daughter for being too materialistic (I should talk! 🙁 ),
in tears she said to me "I don't want everything I want"...

Chris

Imagine: you're dying and have just one minute left to say some words of wisdom to your son or daughter. What do you say?
