R-D1 and Jupiter-12 first timer

Crud. I sold my J-12 a few months ago because it didn't work with my RF body, but now I have an R-D1. Nice pix! :)

Hi,

Love the look coming from this lens.
Anyone know where to pick up a J-12 other than ebay?

Thanks

I hope you bid on the item listed, I would have, but figured you might, it went for $30 with shipping, and came with a Fed 5 body.

FWIW dept - The J-12 will not fit on any Bessa because it will hit the sensor (or pick-up) for the light meters. I will fit on most other lsm cameras including Canon P and Canon 7... at least mine will.

Seems to fit my Yashica Nicca as well, I put the camera on time and looked to see how close it was to the focal plane, PDC, but seems to clear.

I hope a RFF'er got that $22 Ebay Fed 5 with Jupiter 12.

It was I who got that Fed & Jupe. I can't wait! Thanks for the great thread all!

Here's another at 5 bucks!

I had a feeling the way it was listed it might go low, and I did not want to bid it up against someone from the forum who was itching to shoot it.

Most of the ones listed are not in LTM, and the Fed looked in fair shape, and as it is a recent vintage, it should be OK.

It looked to be part of a "fire sale", and I bid on some of the other items, and was outbid by $.50 at the bell, but I was not home. I really prefer to "buy it now", ebay does not remind me any more that the sale is on its last day, and it seems a lot of "gamesmanship" goes on, including sniping.

I have one already, and had I bought this one, it would have been to trade, or leave on the Fed 5, I must have one somewhere, I know I have a Fed 4 and 4K as I found one like new in Prague, and Igor was there to egg me on. Looks as if some are going fairly high, mostly in the LTM.

Now you have to send some photos. ;-)

If you ever get here, you buy the beers. ;-)

Last thursday I was again in Helsinki. Just bought a Zoom H2 Audio recorder two days earlier to do some ambient recordings of demonstrations and other events, but I thought it would be interesting to test it on the streets too.

I haven't used my Epson very much, partly because it's so easy to take my full frame 5D with 35/1.4, but also because I just don't have any fast glass for the R-D1, 15/4.5, J-12 35/2.8 and J-8 50/2 aren't really that fast by my standards, and as I photograph so much in badly lit situations, it's quite hard to use Epson.

But as it was daytime and sun was shining, maybe I should test the Epson.

All with the Jupiter-12

And the audio slideshow (mostly Jupiter-12, towards the end I also used Jupiter-8 and 15/4.5):

It felt quite good, for the past year I've mostly used R-D1 as a wideangle camera in demonstrations and sport events, but now I'm thinking about getting some faster glass. 28/2 or 35/40mm f/1.2 or f/1.4 would really help.

Any Noktons for sale? ;)
