R-D1 and R-D1s firmware versions

Hello. I've just bought an Epson R-D1s as my first rangefinder, after years of SLRs. I like it already, but have a puzzle about firmware.

According to the camera settings, it has 'Version 1' installed. I know there's a Version 2 available to download from Epson for the R-D1, but when I tried to install it, my camera gave an installation error message.

Is Version 1 on the R-D1 different from Version 1 on the R-D1s? Was the Version 2 firmware on the R-D1 updated for the R-D1s, but renumbered back to V.1?

Version 2 on the R-D1 equates to version 1 on the R-D1s, but it can't be loaded onto the R-D1s. I'm not aware of firmware upgrade for the R-D1s.

Thanks. I'd hoped this was true, so now I'll just get on with taking some photos, and see how the camera and I get on.
