I had the opportunity to compare both VF's. The focus patches are in different positions. The R-d1's is off vertically and horizontally. The R-D1s is off horizontally only. Are both normally off center? Thanks

The focus patch stays in place in the center of the viewfinder. Only the framelines move for parallax correction.

If you're used to the Leica M viewfinder, it takes a little while to get accustomed to this, but after the initial strangeness I now really love the clarity and brightness of the RD1s vf.

my rd1s focus patch will move diagonally when I turn the focus ring of the attached lens. The offset is most severe when in near focus. My bessa r2a also have this problem iirc. Haven't touch the bessa for awhile. I don't have this issue on a leica.

You have the feeling that it moves but the focus patch stays in place in the center actually. Only the framelines move for parallax correction.my rd1s focus patch will move diagonally when I turn the focus ring of the attached lens. The offset is most severe when in near focus...
